Oil Spill

A week ago the Pacific Adventurer had a oil spill because thirty-one crates fell of the ship and one hit the ships hull.

Over sixty km of coastline was hit by the oil and it included the sunshine coast and Morton Island.

The the Marine life was the hardest hit because the marine life could choke on the oil and the birds could get their feathers drenched in oil and leave them flightless.

The area is being cleaned up by volernteers. They will be cleaning up all the oil and also cleaning the marine life.

I think the company that owns the ship should have to pay for the cleanup.  

Burnt Home Visit

Following the tragic fires that happend a few weeks ago. Familys are now trying to rebuild their lives and go back to work and children are going back to school. One of the worst places hit was Kinglake.

At West Kingslake a family lost their home. the kids were not at the home when the fire struck but the parents were they survived by hiding in the wine seller for over two hours. They also took the dog and some very valuable memories. The cat some how escaped too.

The family are now renting a house down the road and are already planning to build a house where the old house use to be.

I believe that they were very brave to survive the fire

Kid Olympics

The kid Olympics were held in Sydney this year. Thirty countries competed in seventeen events. The athletes were aged between thirteen to nineteen. The kids even got to stay in the athletes village.Australia won over two-hundred and fifty medals. In the past years over seventy kids have gone throught to the

Olympics after competing in the kids olympics. This event was so successful that the Olympic Committee have decided to hold their own one next year in Singapore.

I believe that this event is a very good idea and gives kids a chance to prove that they are good enough to be in the Olympics.
