If you went to see some teenagers perform for you you would think it was a bit strange if they started talking to their imaginary friends! Well thats what they are doing at Hawker College in Camberra. They are making up a play about Imaginary Friends and what happens to them when you forget them.

       The play was written by Farnoush a student at the college. Now she and a classmate are directing the play. The whole play is for students the actors are students, the make-up crew are students even the backstage crew are students! Farnoush set up some auditions and they went through about two hours of casting!

       While parents are getting annoyed by their children blaming a broken glass on a kid thats not their scientist have found out something different. They have found out that kids that have an imaginaryfriends are better communicators and more creative when they grow up!

        Farnoush hopes her play will help adults remember what it was like to be a kid and maybe help parents be a bit more understanding about their kids imaginary friends. And that would help the kids alot to know that their parents understand.

        Firstly imagine your sitting in front of the T.V after a long day at school. You see a Mcdonalds ad about the newest and biggest cheese burger you go out and get it. And night after night you see the newest and greatest junk food and you go out and get it. All the while your thinking “oh what wonderful and yummy food”, your body will be getting unhealthier. So if you think about it what would the health authorities be thinking about this. Well they want to ban the ads.

        Secondly not many people understand the impact that junk food can have on a childs popularity. One moment he or she could be eating a chicken wrap and have lots of nice friends. Next moment he or she is eating Mcdonalds and people are calling them names like fatty. Obesity is one of the main causes of bullying. And what is one of the things that causes people to go obese. Junk food ads! So banning them could be solving two problems!

        Finally some people hate ads and some people love them. And it wont be like we are banning all the ads just the junk food ones. So it works out for everyone except for the junk food companies. So the people come up with a new idea for the junk food ads just to be moved to a later time when the children have gone to bed. And a lot of people like me believe that is the solution.

        Most of you would love having your bacon in the morning, your beef at lunch and your pork for dinner. Though have you ever thought about where it comes from or what happens to the animal when kept.

        Firstly pigs are very smart animals that are a lot like humans. Not many people  know this so farmers are aloud to lock the pigs up in cages that are the same size as it so that it cant get the excersize it needs. This is excactly like locking a human up for no reason.

        Secondly when you go to buy your pork, beef or bacon how do you if the pig was healthy. How do you know it won’t make you sick. The way you will know is to buy the free-range pig these pigs haven’t been locked up or treated badly thats why its called free-range. This way you know your food is healthy and won’t kill you.

        Finally I want you to imagine being locked up. Imagine not being able to move just standing up and sitting down. Being cramped into a tiny space. Well thats how the pigs feel. Now I hope you know what to do. 

        Steeple chasing has been around for more than fifty years in Australia. Now they are thinking of banning a tradition that has been around for so long!!!

        Firstly I know that a couple of horses died but you cant ban everything. If something hurts you make it safer if it keeps hurting you make it even more safer.

        Secondly I know if I asked the class to put their hands up if they liked going to the races more than half the class would put thier hands up. When people go to the races they dont acspect to see a horse die they come to have some fun.

       Thirdly some of the towns like Warrnambool get their tourists from their horse racing. This means money. The petrol stations get money from all the cars driving in, the motels get money from people staying overnight and the restaurants get money from people going out to dinner after a long day at the races. So their you see without horse racing a town like Warrnambool would be like a ghost town.

      And now to my final point jobs. Not many people realise how many jobs are involved in the process. Firstly their is the jockey, the trainer, the strapper and many others. If we ban this a lot of people will lose their jobs and some will end up on the streets. Now think what would you do.

       Have you ever had the flu if you have you would know that its not pleasant. Though now their is a new type of flu called Swine Flu. Scientists say it is a mix of pig flu, bird flu and human flu that made the deadly Swine Flu.

      It all started in Mexico where many people have died because our bodys arent ready for the Swine Flu. In Mexico lots of people are hiding so now it looks like a ghost town. After a couple of days the flu spread north to the USA so USA and Mexico had the swine flu. Now it has spread all over the world to many countrys.

     Scientists are looking for more cures for the flu. In the airports they have a speical type of x-ray as people walk past if their is someone with a high temperature they will be asked questions and tested for Swine Flu.

   Some people think that it will spread all over the world but for now all we can do is be ready for it.

     If you like to go shopping once in a while you would have noticed everythings made in China, made in China, made in China! Though luckily theres the Aussie brand Bonds! Though thats made in China too! Just because something is made in China doesnt mean wasnt designed in Australia.

    Though why does the government let things be made in Cina and other countrys? The answer is because its cheaper. Though how does it effect the workers in Australia? Lots of people are losing the jobs to the Chinese so the government spends less money. Their are a lot of poor people in China. So they will work for as much money as they can get even if it is just a little bit. Which leaves lots of devestated Australians get there jobs taken not knowing were to go next.

So what does the government do now. If he gives the Chinese the jobs a lot of people in Australia will go poor. Though if he gives the jobs back he will go poor! Though so many people say GIVE THE JOBS BACK!!!

They are cute funny and a lot like humans. They are orangutans! Though unfortunatly they are endagered. They live up in the trees in Bornio and Samatria in indonesia.

You can tell if a orangutan is a male or female. Usually the males have large cheeks and chin so they can make load noises. The female has one baby at a time. Though most of these babys are orphins. What happened to their parents? Well thier homes are getting bulldozed away to make products for us! Their population has dropped by thirty-five percent! Millions of hectares of their homes have been destroyed!

Should we stop the bulldozing for orangutans? It is a hard choice if we keep going orangutans will be extinct. If we stop lots of people will lose their jobs. Though I say ORANGUTANS SHOULD LIVE!!!
