Jumps racing or steeple chasing has been around for over 100 years. It started when two Irish men had a bet about racing two hores between two church steeples and jumping all the obstacls on the way.
Here are a few arguements about why jumps racing should be banned………….
1. It is dangerous for both horse and rider, for example, at Warnambool races three horses died and a jokey broke his wrist in that one series of races.
2.Gambling is another issue that is significant because peaple come and spend hundreds or sometimes even thousands of dollars in a single horse race event which is a waste of money and also paper because every time you bet you get a piece of paper to say how much you bet and on what horse.
3. People getting drunk and causing fights is also a problem because people come to horse races to have a good time and for 50% of people that means to down a few to many cans of beer or glasses of wine and get into and cause trouble .
So I think that horse jumps racing should be banned and I hope you do to
Over the past month and a half the Bonds underwear company have been announcing that they will be moving overseas. This means that over 1000 Australians will lose their jobs. In the report the B.T.N people say that most clothes and excessories are made overseas, in fact most of the products in Australia are made in China. Why because it’s much cheaper.
Australia is called a developed country which means the wages and living standerds are pretty high. But China is stated as a developing country which means some people are just like us, but most are poor. So if people are poor then they settle for a lower income. Meaning that the Chinese companies don’t need as much profit so they sell for a lower price. But some people are saying that this is a bad thing, they say that even though we say, great good qulity clothes at a low price, the workers in China are working long hours in harsh conditions because they don’t have laws like Australia to protect them. So now less than 10% of clothes made by Australian companies are made here.
For years now orang-utans have been killed from deforestation, and hunters. Orang-utans love being tickled, cuddled and all other things we love, they’re just like us though they’re orange!! Unfortunately they’re being wiped out by bulldosers and hunters. They spend pretty much all their time in trees, they make nests to sleep in at night.
Orang-utans are about 1 metre in height but when their arms are spread out they measure 2 metres. They eat fruit leaves bark and insects. Males have large cheeks and a sack under their chin to attract females. Mothers give birth to one baby at a time and look after it until it is 8 years old. Orphans mum’s are usally killed by plantation workers or bulldozers.
I think we should either find other way’s to make shampoo and snack foods or stop using them!!!
