Koalas are an Australian animal that live in the Australian bush they live in trees and they eat gum leaves. They’re cute, there cuddly and there vulnerable witch means there almost endangered. This is tragic because these koalas are Australia’s most recognised animals.   

You may have asked how they were classified vulnerable well there’s a place called national threatened species scientific committee they classify all the species of animals and determined if there vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered.  It’s just like giving the animals a check up to see if there endangered or not. The last time these koalas got a check up there were heaps in the wild.

The main cause of their numbers declining is land clearing up to 80% of the koalas land is being cleared for housing and things. A few months ago there was a big protest for the koala’s habitat. Because there vulnerable they will get extra help in protecting them but they have to be absolutely sure there vulnerable before they do anything.

Remembrance Day is a day that we stop to remember all the soldiers that fought in the war. On Remembrance Day people buy poppies, hold services and lots more. But some soldiers were different they were animals.

That’s right they were animals. Animals helped soldiers track the enemy, find bombs send messages and even help them read in the dark. They don’t just do that there good company too.

For all this work they deserve a medal but that’s just what some animal’s get. These medals are called dicken medals and there awarded for bravery.

I think that animals should help in the war but they shouldn’t be able because there not the ones that started the war. I think that they should be able to take a limited number.

Have you watched the swimming lately?

Well if you have you might have noticed the swimsuits they wear. You may have noticed that they look different but they don’t just look different they work differently too. There is a lot of controversy going on over these swimsuits because they are being banned. These new swimsuits are made of polyurethane and you might think how it makes them different. Polyurethane is a type of plastic but stretchy, and water can’t get through it so it doesn’t drag the swimmer down which makes them a lot faster.

Some people think that this is not a good idea because it’s unfair for the other swimmers and it makes it too easy to get a world record. Some people even think that it’s cheating and want them banned.

Other people like the swimsuits because it makes the swimmers faster and they will win more gold for their country.

In South East Queensland and around Brisbane and the gold coast and North East of New South Wales. There have been some wild storms which have caused floods and landslides. Some people even say that it has been the worst flooding in 30 years and some areas have been declared disaster zones.
The storms where so bad many people got injured and even killed. A man in surfer’s paradise was killed by flying debris smashed through his office window when he was talking on the phone. People’s homes have been destroyed by heavy landslides and raging floods.
Hundreds of thousands of mega litres of rain filled dams across the region. South East Queensland’s worst drought in history is finally over. Some people where hoping that all of the rain will help fill up the Murry darling basin but unfortunately there is a mountain range called the Great Dividing Range are between the Murry darling and Queensland at least some of the rain fell into the Murry Darling but most of it fell on the other side.

Do you now what a rip is?

Most people have heard of one but arent sure wat they are. Well rips can be very dangerous. A rip is a flow of water going back out to sea after coming to shore in waves.

To be able to recognise a rip it is a calm bit of water where the waves arent breaking. Most people think they have found a nice patch of water to swim in but they just get sucked out into the sea. Rips are also dark dark patches so stay away from the calm dark patches in the water.

Each year around 50 people die in rips and 15000 get rescued from them in Australia. So swim between the flags and stay safe.

If you get caught in a rip dont panic and try to swim against it. You will not get anywhere and you will get tired. Public education is really inportant because if people dont know what a rip is there will be more deaths.

The Orangutans live in Borneo and are under threat of extinction because the forest is being cut down to make palm oil plantations. palm oil is used for shapoos,soaps,biscuts and a lot of other stuff. Wile the Orangutans are loseing there homes and dying and all of the baby Orangutangs are left behind so Humans take them into a special daycare for them then they will release them to the wild again.

People think we should stop cutting the trees and save the Orangutans so they dont lose there homes and die.

Other people think we should cut down the trees because alot of people lose there jobs and become broke.

I think we sould stop cutting down trees and help the Orangutans but i dont now wat to do about peoples jobs.

About a month ago Hannah and her cousin Syb went surfing at a popular beach in Tasmania,When a shark attacked Hannah pulling her under the water,Syb came to rescue Hannah punching the shark untill it finaly let go of Hannah’s leg.

Some people think we should be culling more sharks because people are seeing more of them mostly because our beaches are cleaner and there more easily spotted.

Some people think culling is not a good idea because sharks need to eat aswell.

the safest way to not get attacked by a sharks:

do not swim in merky waters were you cant see your feet.

and dont swim at dwan or dusk because thats when sharks come out most.
