Endangered Birds.

In Australia 2/3rds of the birds are becoming extinct why you ask well I am here to tell you. Birds are becoming because of the lack of water and the lack of food. this is all happening because of the drought. The berries can’t grow because the trees don’t have water to grow so they can’t eat anything because no food is on the dried up trees that is why we ahve to try and save water were not the only ones that are suffering the drought animals are to.

Birds are just as imoportant as trees and plants you might not think so because plants and trees supplie food such as vegetable and fruits but still birds are just as important why am I telling you this because you are proberly watering your garden every day well why aren’t we giving water to the birds aswell why not put not put a water fountain out in your backyard I do’t think that, that would hurt anyone to put a lovely bird bath in your backyard  to save the birds.

I think that we should come up with a solution like for example I’ve got a birdhouse in my backyard with food in it for the birds and surprisingly all sorts of birds come i’ve also got a bird bath so the birds can wash and drink. If enough of us do this like have bird baths and bird houses  then we can save the birds from extinction and we can have them still flying around, chirping and brightening our days.

Where are they now?

Koalas are one of the most recognised animal in Australia. I don’t know about you, but when someone says the word Australia the animals that pop into my head would be the Kangaroo and the Koala. When tourists come to Australia, they often go to the zoo just to have a cuddle of these teddy- bear- like animals, and we should be very proud of that.

Koalas are becoming extinct because we are destroying their land and they have nowhere to live, they can’t eat because the gumtrees are gone, that means so are the gum leaves.  They probably can’t drink either, because we have bulldozed their water hole or lakes. If the koalas become extinct tourists won’t really come anymore because they will not be able to cuddle the Koalas.

We have to remember that the animals were here before us, so we can’t just come whenever we feel comfortable and bulldoze their land to make us have homes and things. Some animals lovers like me and I’m sure that there are a lot of them out there, feel like we should go and find  a koala and bring them into our house to live,  because it is just not right on how we are treating these poor little animals that are becoming extinct.

If we want to bulldoze their land for what ever reason, then could we please make another home for them to live, but a better one so they are convinced that this is the place to go. I know that it would take alot of time and work, but do you really want make our most recognised animal in Australia become extinct. So please, when you are going to the zoo to see a Koala or just see one in a tree on your way to your holiday, remember that they were here first and that we are kind of are stealing their land.

The 11th of November

Did you know? that animals helped soliders in world war 1 & 2. Canines (dogs) can sniff our explosives and soliders from other countries coming and they also carried messages. The dogs carried Messages because they can sniff out the right person that needs to have the letter. Pigeons and doves carried messages, messages that had been sent from a long way away.

Other animlas were used during world war 1 & 2 such as Cats, Koalas, Monkeys, Chickens, Horses, Donkeys, Cows, Kangaroos, Glow worms and Bears.

Glow worms were used as lights for when the soliders were in dark trenches or they were fighting at night  they could read messages that other soliders give to them, they can read thier books if they have one, they can read letters from families and they can read maps.

Animals like the ones I just told you got special medals called the Dickens Medal which is a star shaped medal. Animals that survive the war received these medals which honors their bravery.

There was a medal for the humans soliders that was called the Victorins cross and this medal was awarded to the people who came back alive.

There was this rather special cat who didn’t really do anything but people loved him because he was  friendly and loving. all simon did was catch the mice and rats but it didn’t matter what he did because people loved him anyway.

No animals should be used in war because they could die and animals don’t deserve that.

The Story of the Dugongs

Dugongs are animals that look like mermaids so that means that they have often been mistaken for mermaids. Dugongs look like mermaids because of their tail, and also they swim just like mermaids and they also roam on the top of the water just like a mermaid.

Dugongs are herbivors. Herbivors are animals that only eat grass and seaweed, well basically anything that doesn’t involve meat. Herbivors are kind of like vegetarians. The reason why herbivors don’t eat meat is because they can’t digest is properly. They also probably don’t like to kill other animals.

Dugongs are mostly found in the upper part of Australia in the shallow waters. Dugongs are one of those animals that breathe air so they mostly hang around the top of the water which is why they are nearing extinction. Another reason why dugongs don’t go down too far is because Dugongs aren’t very fast swimmers even if they take a big breath and go down really far they might not be able to come back up in time and they sadly could die.

Dugongs are becoming extinct because hunters want to kill them and sell their meat and also, the seaweed is dying so they can’t eat very much. In addition to this, sharks and whales want a good meal so they go for the big fat Dugongs.

Aboriginals are tagging Dugongs and turtles so they can trace their movements. They what to know what makes people want to kill these wonderful animals. If they find out what they are doing then they can put a net where they’re catching them and put a stop to it.

What people want to get out of this reserch is to know what to do to keep Dugongs from extintion so they can live a long life like you and me.

Camels Plague

Camels are spreading fast all around the desert and they are destroying the cattle farmers farms. The farmers tryed to put some fences up but thats not enought o stop a hungry camel they just bulldoze down the fences and eat the farmers vegetables.

Camels Were originally from India. Camels were imported to Australia between  1840 and 1907. camels were brought to Australia to be pack animals and to carry supplies to remote areas.

The population of the camels in the outback is that they are increasing because the camels just keep breeding and they are breeding fast. If you went to the outback the 1st thing you’d see is proberly a camel wait scratch that a million camels.

What the camel are doing to the Farmers farms is that they step all over their vegetables and they are eating them and also doing their business on it. The farmers are doing all they can to stop those hungry camels but for that I am concerned the farmers will have to put up metal bars.

I really think that camels shouldn’t be culled because if camels didn’t do this then they would be a harmless animal and everyone nows that. Camels are really a very gental animal. Maybe why camels are doing this is because they are just hungry maybe they haven’t eaten for days and they need fuel in their body like if we were hungry and we hadn’t eaten in days then we would do anything would we not sot hats why they absolutely should not be culled.

Well what i think that would be a good solution if you want them to stop eating your vegetables then maybe get them to eat their vegetables. Well what i mean is that maybe the town could make patches of vegepatches for the camels and then everyone would be happy evan the camels.

Bottled Water!!!!

In Bundagoon the people have banned bottled water, why you may ask, because making the bottles uses to much oil and waste to much money.

The human body uses up alot of water because the lungs are made up of 60% of water, the Brain is made up of 70% of water, the bones are made up of 20% of water and the blood is made up of more than 80% of water. We need water to live if we don’t drink enough water we could die.

Water helps the body stay hydrated and helps our body run proberly. Our body is made up of 60% of water if we are not near this number we could get dehydrated.

There are some concerns of bottled water because after people are done drinking water, most people don’t reuse it or rcycle it they chuck it out rhe window of their car and don’t give a dame where it ends up.

Bottled water is used for alot of things like: Athletics, Swimming Events, just having a bottle of water on your desk at school and heaps moret things.

I think that bottled water should be banned because everyone is sick of pollution, and want it to stop so the children can happy a happy clean life when they are older.

Orangutanslives are at steak!!!!!!!!!!

In Burneo some orangutans have to live in a petting zoo because thier  habitat is gone. some orangutans have to stay at the petting zoos for the remainder of thier lives because their mothers have left them or have sadly been killed.

people cut down their habitat because we need palm oils for our foods, cooking, chocolates, breads, detergents and lipsticks.

I think the solution to this is to stop advertising for for the job. when the workers stop cutting down trees they lose thier jobs so to stay with their jobs they have to cut down as many trees as they can. And really if you think about it i really don’t think that we need palm oil in all those items above.

thank you

SHARK ATTACK!!

A 13 year old girl went surfing at Port Phillip Bay when out of the blue a Great White Shark popped up out of the water. When she got free and got to the surface she screamed to her cousin Syb who dived into the water. When Syb reached Hannah Syb managed to draw the Great White away. As soon as Syb drew off the shark Syb put hannah on his board and raced back to shore. But the shark was’nt finish he came bac for the food but Syb’s foot was ready to hit. so Syb smacked the shark and went to shore. Hannah was raced to Hospital and had to have 202 stitches.

I think a good solution is to put a metal wall out in the deep but so the people can swin safely. It is not fair that humans just go culling all the sharks when all they are trying to do is look for food so they can live like you and me.
