Swine flu

This week on BTN they talked about the swine flu. The swine flu has been brought into a lot of countries. It started in Mexico City. It moved its way around the world though airports.

Swine flu is formed by pig flu, bird flu, and human flu. The reason why so many people have died is because our body is not immune to it. It mostly spreads on aeroplanes in the air conditioning also every one that fly’s into Australia gets checked by a heat camera.

I think that if it gets into Australia they should shut down the airports.

ACID OCEANS

This week on BTN some oceans are breaking away by acid. For exsample The Great Barrier Reef. The 7th  most wonder of the world well may not be anymore.

The Great Barrier Reef is losing its colar this is called bleeching. This is happening because when the waves form it absorbs carbondioide and brings it into the ocean. This is called carbonic acid so that is how the the coral and other sea things are losing their coloar. This is also causing another problem the food chain because krill eat off little things in the water that are not serviving with what happening. This mean that whales cant eat krill so they will not survive because krill will not be there.

I think that we should still cut down pollation. But also the scintist should keep trying to stop this happening by finding some thing that sticks to the coral and help it not to get hit by acid.

Dengue fever

On BTN the reporters talked about Dengue fever. Dengue fever is a really bad fever that is carried by mosquitoes they don’t normally go for animals they like human blood.

There are over 300 different types of mosquitoes. The main carrier of Dengue fever is the aegis aegypti. Many people have had this fever it causes headaches, rashes and it makes you feel like your bones are going to crack. The committee are getting mozzie busters to check out places that have water, mould and other things that attract mozzies.

I think that the scientist should work really hard on finding a cure for this fever. Or check more carefully at the airports this means they should get some things like a metal detector but it finds mozzies.

Terrorist Attack

This week on BTN the Sri Lanka cricket team was gunned down by terrorists in Pakistan. The attack took place on Tuesday.

Pakistan is still one of the world’s best cricket team. But may not be able to play any international games there. Normally terrorists attack because they want a change. In the attack 6 police officers were killed and two of the Sri Lankan cricket players were injured.

The attack happened when the cricket players were in their bus getting to their game. Unfortunately the terrorist jump out of nowhere and tried to take out the whole bus, but it was the bus driver who kept most of the team out of trouble.

I think that there should be more police men guarding things like this. There were very few police men there until the gunfight happened.

Orang Utans

This week on BTN we learnt that Orang-Utans are on their way to extinction. I think that we should try to keep these cuddly, cute Orang-Utans on our planet.
The population of Orang-Utans has gone down by at least 35% that means they’re on their way to extinction. This is because of the tress and foods are gone for money that the country needs.
To help Orang-Utans you need to stop buying food products with palm oil in it.  Also they need to stop cutting down the rain forest in Borneo. But they need to find another way not to hurt them because palm oil is needed to sell to get lots of money for that country.
