The flu. Did you know almost every animal in the world has its own flu but at the start only birds had the flu but now even snakes have their own flu. Now there’s a new flu called swine flu.

 It started in mexico when a pig had pig flu and then got bird flu. The two viruses merged and created a new kind of flu in the pig. After that the pig was infected with the new flu and then caught the human flu. As you might have guessed the two merged and created the deadly swine flu. the pig was then kept near humans and then they caught the swine flu. Humans are vunerable to the flu because the cells are so different in swine flu to normal flu that we over heat and cough unbearably.

I think that if we can keep most people like immigrants out of the country that are affected by the virus we can keep away they virus. Also since airports have started getting some heat responsive cameras that can sense up to half a degree in temperature celsius.

Australia has a long history in immigration because after the war many people were given cheap or free tickets. Now that the economy is slowing down the government is reducing the amount of people being allowed into the country. The government believe that the less people they let into the country the more jobs there are for people already here.

In the past Australia was letting a lot of people into the country to build the population. Back then anyone could come to Australia but now a preference is being made for skilled migrants. There are three main types of migrants that come to Australia, some already have family in Australia, others are refugees that are escaping from trouble in their old country, the rest are usually skilled migrants who come to Australia to work.

I believe that migrants should be let into the country because some of them buy houses which gives builders more work. Others dont buy houses but start new businesses that employ more workers. They will earn more money and then buy more things from stores who can then pay their workers who can then buy more things and so on. This cycle is made and everyone ends up with some money.

After the bush fires many animals were burnt or seriously injured by the tragedy of Black Saturday. Many animals are being cared for at Healesville Sanctuary. Most of them will be at the sanctuary for a long time so they can recover from their injuries. Squeaks, the possum, was found starving in the middle of the fire zone. Also Rex, the sugar glider, escaped without any serious harm but was found half starved to death. It will take a while for the bush to grow back but with the help of Healesville Sanctuary these animals will be back on their feet in no time.
