Mummies

Usually when you hear the word Mummies you think of Egypt, but now archaeologists have found mummies not even in Africa but South America in Chile. The mummies of the Chinchiro people are found in the Atacama Desert in the north of Chile. It’s. so dry that the bacteria is killed leaving the bodies well preserved.

These bodies are estimated to be around 8000 years old witch is older than the Egyptian ones. There are Australian archaeologists in the Atacama desert looking for old possessions but it will be hard for them with thieves hunting for gold and silver jewellery at the same time. The bodies were skinned and had their organs taken out before they were stuffed with bushes and leaves before they were buried.

I think that there might be a connection with the mummies found in Egypt and Chile. I also hope that the Australian archaeologists can find all belongings before the robbers do.

Sri Lankan cricket team attack !!

On the 3rd of March 2009, the Sri Lankan cricket team was due to play against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Sri Lanka was traveling to the stadium in a bus.

They were just outside the the stadium, when they when the terrorists surrounded them and opened fire, injuring 5 cricketers and killing 6 security men and 2 civilians. The umpires car was also shot at.

The match and test series was called off. This has put many of Pakistan’s sporting events in doubt including the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. The country of Pakistan is very embarrassed.

i think that if i was in that position i would be terrified and the Sri Lankan team did not deserve it, they are owed an apology, and also no professional sport should be allowed in Pakistan for a while.

orangutan’s

Orangutan’s are a great Ape and the most intelligent kind. They are found in the Jungles of Borneo and Sumatra, they spend about 90% of their time in trees when they are adults having hand like feet and an arm span of up to 2.3 meters.

They are endangered, they have lost more than half their population because of farming and using the trees for timber.there is only 30,000 left in the world around 20,000 in Borneo and 10,000 in Sumatra. When Orangutan’s are found  injured or just left with no natural habitat because the areas has just been cut down they are taken to an orangutan orphanage were they would learn how to survive in the Jungle on their own before being set free. specialists say that cutting down the Jngles will have to stop in the next couple years for the Oangutans to have any chance in surviving.

I think that The Orangutan’s deserve to live, and they should make protected reserve for the orangutan’s were no farming or logging is permitted.

Shark Attack !!

On Sunday the 11th of January 2009. Hannah Mighall was surfing at Bailey’s Rocks off Binalong Bay in eastern Tasmania with her cousin, who was visiting from Coolangatta in Queensland.

All of a sudden she saw a massive shadow, and realized it had to be a shark. The 5 metre long Great White took a massive bite of her leg, and pulled her under several times. The water was turning red, her cousin Syb Mundy, rushed over to save her. He punched the shark in the head until it let go of Hannah. The shark then took a bite from the board . Syb got Hannah on his board and paddled into to shore. The shark followed until it got shallow. Hannah was then was taken to Hobart Hospital. She was given plastic surgery on her right leg. Senior Sergeant Jason Elmer of St Helens Police said “She was really clam, she was brave, probably in a little bit of shock. There was no tears”.

Hannah said ” It pulled away from me and I looked down and saw this black thing coming back up at me again it was massive, it didn’t look real”.

I think she is very lucky to be alive. And i hope she will be back in the water some day.
