Asylum Seekers

A few weeks ago, there was a boat found in the ocean with people aboard.  We found out that they were Asylum Smugglers and there were coming to Australia to get away from their country and Governor because over in their country they are inadequately treated so they came to Australia.  Their boat was poorly built and they didn’t have enough food and water for their journey.  Five people were killed and others were injured but they got to their destination, and that made them happy.  If I was one of them I would try to be brave and some how try to survive.

Recycled Water;

Over the past few years, suburbs in Victoria have been in a terrible drought.  People are trying to save water at the moment so the Government is trying to turn storm water into drinking water.  You are properly wondering what I am talking about because storm water is really, really dirty and we can’t drink dirty water because we would get sick.  So the Government has a new idea to help and recycle water. This suburb in Victoria has got a new way to help recycle water.  So the normal water we use out of a tap is used for cleaning, washing and all of the above, but now there is a new tap which is purple and that is used for watering your garden and flushing your toilet’s.  We need you to help us save as much water as possible so when you have a shower put a bucket underneath you and then put it on the garden and also you should have water tanks.  A long time ago people’s gardens were as green as green but at the moment they are as brown as brown, and children don’t know how to run under sprinklers.

Oil Spill Disaster!!!

About a week and a half ago, there was a terrible spillage in the ocean.  People are concerned that it is affecting the coral of the Great Barrier Reef and it is diluting the colours of the ocean’s coral and killing some the sea’s animals.  The Chinese, have been fined up too a multimillion-dollar compensation.  With terrible rows and rows of black oil on the Queensland cost, effecting the environment of the animals and land animals, it is shocking to see that the government of north-eastern Queensland State denied it had acted too slowly to stop this environmental disaster National parks at Moreton and Bribie islands just north of the state capital  of Brisbane were worst hit by the fuel oil that leaked from the container ship Pacific Adventurer on Wednesday, and oil washed ashore in pockets along the popular Sunshine Coast.

Designer Babies

For generations, in fact for life, in families there is something called a “Jean”.  A Jean is not something you wear for clothes; it is something that goes through your family and it gets passed through and onto you, then your children then your children’s, children’s.  So, some people are sick and tired of the same thing so there is a new thing in town called “Designer Babies!” you can change your baby into somebody different like instead of having dark hair and dark eyes, you can have light hair and blue or other coloured eyes.  There have been opinions from other parents some good, and some bad, my opinion is that you should take what you are given in life and there is a reason why we are all different.

Tropical Cyclone Hamish

Tropical Cyclone Hamish was one of the most dangerous cyclone in the northern part of Australia, but no one was killed but some injured.  As I saw it shocked me to see that houses were being pulled apart and swept away.  People trying to save their lives and their homes but some were unlucky.

Cattle Camp

During the long weekend, children in Victoria have travelled to the country and have gone to ‘Cattle Camp’.  These children are here to show their skill of being farmer when they grow up.  Ages to 5-24 were allowed to be involved in this activity, so the cows and bulls have been taken care by their farmers by having bathes and fed as well.  As I saw, the people are having a great time!

Animal Rescue

During the bushfires it is not just poeple that are getting injured and killed it is also animals.  About one weeks ago a little koala was badly injured but Sam is alright now.  So koalas, kangaroos, bilbies and lots more have been save from the bushfires by The Animal Rescue Comunittee.  They need your help to save other animals so if you have seen any animal that look sick or injured in your or a local area around you, you should take it to the R.S.P.C.A or any other animal help around you, so help save the animals!

Rather Help

     Last year (2008) year 12 students finished school and for a celebration they all went to parties and schoolies, but these teenages went away to East Timor to help unfortunite people.  In East Timor all the children and adults don’t have what we have here, in Australia.  These thourghtful student brought good food, clean water and new clothes for them.  As I watch them on the televition I thought to myself that people conplaine about things you can get over but these children and adults have nothing they are living under trees and  the men have to build shelter with broken off branches and leaves.  We live houses, we have Hospitals and we are protected by Police and when we have a fire we have the Fire Brigade.  They have to do that all themselves.
