Taking headlines is the asylum seekers. Asylum means safe place and this is what these people are doing trying to get to safe place some people are finding it really hard in there countries so they are taking small boats here to Australia.
With permission people are taking these boats in very harsh conditions under the risk of starving or there boat being invaded with pirates.
Some people in the other countries are making money by selling tickets and bringing people over here to Australia with out permission. Also known as people smugglers.

How about we save our water? At least the government thinks so. Well how do we save our water? The government believes we should start using rain water but not everyone agrees to use rain water. It is dirty.
After going down the drain and onto wet land it is pumped down pipes and cleaned. Apparently it is a lot cheaper to run. Which would help the financial problem a lot.
The water is not clean enough to drink yet but good enough for your garden another good reason to keep this going is because it isn’t coming from any major rivers just wet land.
The government has donated two million dollars to keep this going! What do you think? I think we should keep this running
Immagration has played a big part on this country Australia people have come from everywhere across the world such as kenya, Sudan, Iran, Columbia and many other places.
In the early days the goverment encoraged people to come to australia to boost the population. The goverment gave very cheap tickets or even free ones to come to Australia.
Now it is different not everyone gets into the country. Lots of people come to get away from violence or some are looking for work. My grandfather lived in Italy and came to Australia for work.
On the 14th of March at the Melbourne cricket ground there was a concert to raise money for all those poor people who lost there homes or got injured. Lots of famous people gave their time to help raise money such as Kylie Minogue, John Farnham, The Presets, Coldplay and Gabriella Cilmi.
With a 12 hour concert everyone was partied out but the one thing that every one was touched by the 1 minute silence.
The bushfires have killed over 2oo people and lots of animals. In Marysville the place where the bushfires hit lots of native animals have terrible burns or serious injuries. Healsville Sanctuary have had a lot of native animals brought in and some animals with devestating burns have been after taking care of them they set some of the animals free that had minor burns. Other animals have been taken to the zoo. Let’s hope that they get better!!!!!
A 13 year old girl named Hannah survived a terrible shark attack. Luckly her cousin Syb saved her.
She was screaming as the shark pulled her under the water. Her cousin Syb paddled out to save her. When her reached her he pulled Hannah on to his board he punched the shark until it let go of poor Hannahs leg. It has ended with a result of 200 stitches!
She doesn’t want the shark to be harmed she says she was in the sharks habitat so it was at her risk.
I think she did the right thing by not letting the shark be harmed. Get well soon Hannah!
