Recycled Water;

Over the past few years, suburbs in Victoria have been in a terrible drought.  People are trying to save water at the moment so the Government is trying to turn storm water into drinking water.  You are properly wondering what I am talking about because storm water is really, really dirty and we can’t drink dirty water because we would get sick.  So the Government has a new idea to help and recycle water. This suburb in Victoria has got a new way to help recycle water.  So the normal water we use out of a tap is used for cleaning, washing and all of the above, but now there is a new tap which is purple and that is used for watering your garden and flushing your toilet’s.  We need you to help us save as much water as possible so when you have a shower put a bucket underneath you and then put it on the garden and also you should have water tanks.  A long time ago people’s gardens were as green as green but at the moment they are as brown as brown, and children don’t know how to run under sprinklers.

penguin dogs

This new invention called marrema’s is a great invention that will hopefully be able to help lots of dying species.

This idea was started on a farm where a man uses his dogs to scare the foxes away from his chickens. It has now been used as a way to keep the foxes away from the penguins on an island called Middle Island. People aren’t sure why the penguins chose to breed there because with the steep cliffs and the boundiful number of foxes this place is pretty much a deathzone for them. In 2005 the population was 4, they were very close to extinction but then they brought in maremma’s and since then the population has grown to 80 with 20 chicks!

Well i think this is great news for the penguins and especially good news for consrevationests because hopefully they will be able to use these dogs to help other birds and animals.

Let’s Save Our Water!

How about we save our water? At least the government thinks so. Well how do we save our water? The government believes we should start using rain water but not everyone agrees to use rain water. It is dirty.

 

After going down the drain and onto wet land it is pumped down pipes and cleaned. Apparently it is a lot cheaper to run. Which would help the financial problem a lot.

 

The water is not clean enough to drink yet but good enough for your garden another good reason to keep this going is because it isn’t coming from any major rivers just wet land.

 

The government has donated two million dollars to keep this going! What do you think? I think we should keep this running

Immigration

Immigration is when someone comes from another country to live and work in that country. Migrants normally come over here to live with family or escaping their country because of war or a big disaster in the country.  They come here to work and live. Wait a second they shouldn’t get to work in Australia if fellow Australians have lost their jobs in the economic crisis.

On BTN this morning they said most of the immigrants are talented at something for example Plumbing or carpentry. So the Australian government lets them in. if you look around at least one person would be an immigrant. The government is trying to put a stop to ‘skilled immigrants.’ In the old days it was much easier to get into the country.

 And we needed fill the population but now we have a quite a big population so we don’t need anymore people.

            The advantages of having Immigrants are that if the start a business and they will provide more jobs for Australians. They also need to have houses and if they need builders the building industry will grow. I think that we should let skilled immigrants into the country so that our country is very successful.

Mummies

Some people think you can only find mummies in Egypt around the pyramids. Others don’t even believe in mummies, but some archaeologists in Chile have found mummies over 8000 year old mummies in good condition.

 Archaeologists are looking for mummies in the ground at Chile. Once they find bits of mummies they take them and put them back together.

The mummies have stayed in such good condition because it is very hot in Chile so all the bacteria burn’s up. They put sticks and cloth in the mummies so that it stays in one piece.

Archaeologists believe that this only the start to finding mummies and have only just started.

 

ACID OCEAN’S

Scientists are worried about the coral reefs because theres an increases of carborn dioxide in the air. When carborn dioxide gets into the water it makes it more acidic and  thats whats hurting the coral reefs because when carborn dioxide is added to the water it crummbles even thoe it isnt that much acid in the ocean but it still effects coral in a bad way.

But how does the carborn dioxide get into the water in the first place? Well there is alot of it  in the air so when the waves the air gets caught under them and the carborn dioxide goes into the water.

But scientists are still worried about other stuff like polyps that make up coral and other things plankton that is made out of the same stuff. Scientists ran some tests to look at how the polyps have been efected and now adays shell of the polyp was weaker then ages ago shell of a polyp. This could effect the food chain and the envirment.

 

Immigration

People have been immagraring to Australia for centuries. Many of the immagrants that come to Australia for jobs and maybe to even start their own careerover here with a family or a friend some even come over half way across the world to see their family for a week or two.

 

This is a problem for us the citizens of Australia because the immagrants take over jobs and the government are having to demolish more sites for these immagrnts.Mind you that is not a bad thing becuse they have to pay for their houses which grows the economy to a larger number.Here is another problem why immagrants are a problem. More than half the immagrants are more skilled than us Australians simply because they had better education than us or they are just better for what ever the reason. now that’s a problem.

 

it is good to have immagrants because they build up the economy bring over money from their home country and they have to pay the government and the more money the government get the more money the government pay us for what ever reason that happens to be.

Mummies

AHHHHHH! I’VE JUST STUMBLED ACROSS A MUMMY AND NOW I’VE GOT A CURSE ON ME AND I’M SOOOOOOO DEAD! is what we think when we see a mummy in real life. Or we have nightmares for the rest of our lives when we see a mummy coming to life on a horror movie rated MA. We also think that they’re only found in Egypt. But they’ve actually been found in South America.

In the Atacama Desert. On the edge of South America. It’s one of the driest places on earth and you’d never think you could find them there. You can even find bits of pottery and old bones!

It doesn’t rain much down there so the bacteria on the bones isn’t breaking down to much. The archaeologists seem to be very happy to find these mummies and prove other people  wrong that they’re only found in Egypt. Every time they find a mummy they take it somewhere to study them even further. And some don’t look like they died too peacefully; one mummy they found had a spear through the centre of his chest! You should’ve seen it!

Immigration

A long time ago Australians let a lot of migrates in to help build our country and make us have more skilled workers. They did this to have better shops and restaurants so Australians economy will become stronger.

Now it’s a bid issue because the skilled are competing with th unemployed Australians, so more skilled would leave a lot of unemployed. So more migrates the more unemployed which leaves a lot of Australians fustrated.

There is anotherside to this story. When the migrates come over they can start new shops and restaurants which make the unemployed imployed because theres more shops to work at. It will make Australians aconamy have a boost if these shops or restaurants become succesful

I think migrates should be able to come to Australia because they boost our aconomy and with out them we wouldn’t have all those fantastic chines and international restaurants and also if we didn’t have them our country would be a very boring country and we wouldn’t know what it would be like without out these places
